The ReBuilder seems expensive, why is that?
Answer: the ReBuilder is a very sophisticated, highly technical medical device that performs more functions than a pace maker that costs $5,000 to $15,000 and then requires surgical implantation that adds another $12,000. The pacemaker conditions the electrical signals that control your heart and the ReBuilder conditions the electrical signals that connect your extremities to your brain. It is microprocessor controlled with a tiny computer chip that has more computing power than your iPhone®. In order to offer the ReBuilder to as many people in pain as possible, we became a licensed Medicare provider. Medicare limits the maximum allowable they will pay, so the retail price of the ReBuilder far less than other medical devices on the market. If we did not work with Medicare, the retail price of the Rebuilder would be $9,000.
In addition to the actual manufacturing and advertising cost of the ReBuilder, our government has many regulatory agencies involved such as the FDA, SEC, EPA, Immigration department, IRS, etc. More than half of the cost of the ReBuilder is due to government mandated fees.
Because you can likely reduce your current medications (average is $877 per year), and avoid surgical amputations, etc. The ReBuilder pays for itself. Add to that the value of maintaining your mobility, freedom and independence, the ReBuilder is truly one of life's real bargains.
Does the ReBuilder treatment hurt? What does it feel like?
Answer: The ReBuilder feels good. The signal feels like a tiny tingle that pulses on and off. You can manually adjust the intensity setting for maximum comfort.
How will I know when it is working?
Answer: As for the ReBuilder itself operating properly, the ReBuilder has an indicator light that lights up every time a signal is sent. This will tell you if the unit itself is generating a pulse. To test the wires that lead to the signal pads, you can apply one adhesive signal pad to the back of each hand (or get another person who has a healthy nervous system to apply them to the back of their hands) and slowly increase the intensity setting until you can feel it. You can wet skin prior to applying the adhesive pads to increase the conductivity if necessary.
As for whether your ReBuilder is working to reduce your symptoms, this can be a subjective analysis based upon your particular set of symptoms. Usually, during the actual 30 minute treatment session, the sensation of pain will be totally gone, and then you will experience a significant reduction in pain for 2 to 4 hours. Then, this benefit should gradually increase in effectiveness and length of time with each successive treatment. If you are taking any pain medications, then your results may take longer until you are able to reduce your prescriptions with the help of your physician.
What if it stops operating? How long is it warranted for?
Answer: The ReBuilder carries a 5 year warranty against problems with workmanship. If you have a problem, you can return it and we will repair it or replace it at our option and return it to you and we will pay the return shipping charge. ReBuilders built in 1988 are still working perfectly. Non-workmanship or customer damage failures will be considered on an individual basis. For example, one patient's dog ate through the wires and another patient set it on his car roof and drove off. We replaced both for free. 85% of our sales are referrals so we want you to keep your ReBuilder running so you can share your success stories with others.

- We will then contact your doctor and get medical records to determine that you meet Medicare's requirements
- Return Proof of Delivery documents to ReBuilder-DME as described
- Begin using ReBuilder as instructions describe
- Make a "30 Day" appointment with your doctor for a re-evaluation 30 – 45 days after beginning to use the ReBuilder
- Record use of ReBuilder in provided Treatment Record form
- See your doctor for the "30 Day" visit
- Obtain and send, or have the doctor's office send, the completed Certificate of Medical Necessity to RBM-DME
Does Medicare cover the entire cost?
Answer: Medicare requires you to pay the first $162 deductible for medical products each year. Once you have met that deductible, Medicare covers about 80% of the cost of all medical products. If you have secondary insurance, we will handle filing all that paperwork for you as well, and most secondary insurance plans may cover some portion of the balance. Any remaining balance can be paid in small monthly increments as your budget allows. Please call us to make arrangements for any monies due after your Medicare and secondary insurance benefits have been exhausted.
Why hasn't my doctor told me about the ReBuilder?
Answer: If your doctor has kept up with new medical developments he will have told you. Many physicians today are so busy that they sometimes neglect to follow new technology. One way we can reach these doctors is when you request a prescription for the ReBuilder, that triggers him to begin researching the ReBuilder and the vast majority of doctors will provide you with the prescription and then they begin to prescribe it for their other patients with pain once he observes how well it has worked for you.
Any physician, or panel of hospital-based physicians, claiming that the ReBuilder is experimental or unapproved, is posing unwarranted risks to the health of the patient, and demonstrating a complete and total ignorance or denial of the scientific literature. If your physician has not kept up to date with technology, perhaps you should consider finding a new doctor. We have a list of motivated doctors on our "find a doctor" page.
What if he/she refuses to write a prescription?
Find a new physician who really cares about his patients and is willing to use his own judgment and observations to make an informed decision.
Can everyone use the ReBuilder?
Answer: the ReBuilder is safe for almost everyone. As with all medical equipment we suggest that pregnant women and children should not use the ReBuilder. It is contra indicated for patients with certain pacemakers, especially those with the defibrillator accessory. You can check with your cardiologist and even have him call us for a technical consultation to determine if you can use the ReBuilder under his direct supervision.
How much does the ReBuilder cost?
Answer: The ReBuilder and conductive garments are a covered expense under Medicare & insurance guidelines. Medicare pays 80%, and then if you have secondary insurance they will cover some of the balance. Any remaining balance after Medicare and secondary insurance benefits have been exhausted can be paid in monthly installments. If you do not have Medicare, the ReBuilder can be paid for by credit card, or you may qualify for a payment plan with payments as low as $49 per month.
Will it keep me from getting neuropathy if I am on chemo now?
Yes, in all likelihood it will. Unfortunately, Medicare may not pay for to prevent peripheral neuropathy until after 3 months of suffering because, according to their rules, you must have pain for 3 months. We are beginning to think that Medicare does not like senior citizens!
